A Ph.D. student working on a medical
problem focusing on relaxing patients with ovarian
cancer during treatment had collected data but
could make no sense of it.
The Solution
Mr. Bryant met with the student
and became familiar with the project. He then
took the data, organized it with appropriate graphs
and did a preliminary analysis of it. The student
and Mr. Bryant met again to discuss the research
and what the analysis demonstrated. Mr. Bryant
further analyzed the data, wrote a report and
explained it to the student. He then coached the
student so she could defend her research to her
doctoral panel.
The Outcome
The student remarked that Bryant's
had made the statistical results of the research
clear, which was remarkable as she had no advanced
statistical skills. She successfully defended
her research.
